Mechanics vices

Record Mechanics vices are the most popular and widely used general - purpose vices for light to medium duty application.
       High-quality grey iron casting, machined to very close tolerances, are desingned to withstand distortion under pressure.
       Smooth, dependable action is provided by the long barrelled, unbreakable nut which is dovetailed into the body.
       Perfect alignment of main screw and nut reduces wear and gives long trouble-free service.
       These vives are available with option SWIVEL BASES* which allow rotation through 360° with positive, firm locking in any position.
       Record Mechanics vices are fully guaranteed against manufacturing and material defects.  Their interded use is for gripping and they should not be use in situations where very heavy hammering is anticipated. For this application a heavy-duty vice, with integral anvil is recommended.


Materials : Body and sliding jaw, high-quality castings of guaranteed strength. Main screw, high quality steel.

Finish : Stove-enamelled Record Blue.

General purpose snips

Intended primarily for general purpose, straight cutting of sheet metal. Available in four sizes, with or without spring divided handles, the latter having the addition of a leaf spring to facilitate re-opening the handles after each cutting stroke, and a retaining strap to keep them closed when not in use.

Designed for general purpose off-straight cutting (clockwise). of sheet metal ; particularly where the radius or angle to be cut is smaller tham can be cut satisfactorily with either the G245 pattern or Gilbow universal type shears.
